			<head>Biographical Note</head>
			<p>Edward Everett Hale (1893-1975) was an economist, government official, labor
				arbitrator and University of Texas at Austin Professor of Economics and Chairman of
				the University of Texas Department of Economics. Before joining the University of
				Texas, he served as a director of the San Antonio Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank
				of Dallas (1948-1950).</p>

			<head>Scope and Contents</head>
			<p>The Edward Everett Hale Papers, 1947-1950, contain documents produced and accumulated
				by Hale while he was a member of the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Branch of
				the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The material concerns the routine activities of
				the Board, as well as data and analysis relating to the banking, commercial,
				industrial, and agricultural sectors of the economy of the area served by the
				Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.</p>
			<p>Monthly reports contain general information as to the status of leading industries in
				Texas, and correspondence relates generally to planning of board meetings. The
				collection also includes addresses, circulars, correspondence, financial statements,
				memoranda, and statistics.</p>
