			<head>Biographical Note</head>
			<p>Dorothy Emerson was an Austin feminist and member of the Austin Area Holistic Health
				Association (AAHHA). She was involved in the opening of the Austin Wellness Center
				(started by the AAHHA) and in the “Khan Du project,” a mini-series produced by the
				San Antonio Television Station KLRN about career education for handicapped children.
				Emerson is now a Unitarian Universalist minister in Medford, Massachusetts. </p>

			<p>The Dorothy Emerson Collection, 1977-1991, consists of materials collected by Dorothy
				Emerson. The collection includes newsletters, pamphlets, brochures, catalogs,
				broadsides, and newspaper clippings.The clippings relate to feminist and holistic
				health oriented groups around Texas and the U.S. and includes Emerson’s classified
				files concerning Our Lady’s Mission, a feminist spirituality network. The collection
				also concerns the Austin Khan Du, lesbian/gay issues, and the National Organization
				for Women (NOW). Also included are AAHHA Records, including meeting minutes, budget
				projections, grant materials, and proposals. Issues of "Holistic Health News" and
				"New Age In Austin" are also part of the collection.</p>
