A Guide to the Texas Faculty Association Records, 1972-2001 (bulk 1985-2001)
The Texas Faculty Association formed in 1985 to protect the academic freedom of higher education faculty and staff, to increase faculty participation in governance, and to facilitate improvement of teaching, scholarship, and creativity in postsecondary Texas institutions. TFA represents members in the state legislature and provides resources to resolve conflict through affiliation with the Texas State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

The Texas Faculty Association Records, 1972-2001 (bulk 1985-2001) document the administration of the TFA, its relationship with higher education institutions in Texas, and its affiliation with the National Education Association and other educational associations. The collection contains legislative files, financial records, meeting files, membership records, research files, press releases, publications, photographs, audiovisual materials, and grievance files.
