			<head>Historical Note</head>
			<p>The Texas Faculty Association formed in 1985 to protect the academic freedom of
				higher education faculty and staff, to increase faculty participation in governance,
				and to facilitate improvement of teaching, scholarship, and creativity in
				postsecondary Texas institutions. TFA represents members in the state legislature
				and provides resources to resolve conflict through affiliation with the Texas State
				Teachers Association and the National Education Association.</p>
