Vickie Cantrell Vogel attended school in Dallas in the late 1950s and early 1960s. A
member of the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) for Senate District
18, Vogel has been active in Texas politics since the 1960s.

The Vickie Vogel Collection, 1906-2012, documents both Vogel’s childhood in Dallas in
the late 1950s-1960s and her political activism from the 1990s-2000s. The collection
comprises of school programs, student newspapers, and political materials, including
newspapers from Nathaniel Hawthorne Elementary School with articles written by Vogel
and programs from the Old Timers Professional Association of North Texas 1962
mid-winter banquet. Political materials include correspondence relating to her
service in the Texas State Democratic Executive Committee and ephemera from
political campaigns throughout Texas from the early 1990s to 2010. The collection
also includes postcards inherited from her in-laws and documents related to the
Texas Jewish Historical Society.
