			<p>The Garet S. Hardcastle Letter (1841) pertains to politics in the Republic of Texas
				during 1841. Hardcastle, writing to Otis Arnold of Nashville, Tennessee, on April 8,
				1841, discusses land claims, the city of Houston’s chances to become the capital of
				the Republic, the currency of Texas, the upcoming presidential election, Sam
				Houston’s drunkenness, and Indians. </p>
