			<p>The journal of John Augustus Ansley is an in-depth, comprehensive account of daily
				life in Texas following the Civil War (1865-1869). He paints a vivid picture of

				following the Civil War and describing the post-war economy. Furthermore, Ansley’s
				journal chronicles farming conditions, daily life, local politics, and social
				affairs in Crockett, Texas. </p>
