		Wisconsin of German parents. He was sent from Wisconsin to Texas to investigate
		living conditions and opportunities for German immigrants.</p>

	 <p>Stereo views are of Dallas and Houston, primarily commercial buildings.
		One of the Dallas views portrays the lynching of a black man named Wesly Jones.
		Manuscript material includes letters and postcards containing Burmeister’s
		views of the climate and business opportunities in Texas. Most of the letters
		are in German with synopses in English.</p><!--If
