Robert L. Galloway, Sr. (1896-1983) was a pilot in World War I, a prohibition officer
during the Great Depression, a Texas Ranger, and an FBI Agent.

The Robert L. Galloway, Sr. Papers, 1917-1933, contain records related to Galloway’s
service with the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Prohibition, as well as
Galloway’s personal papers. The Bureau of Prohibition records contain daily and case
reports, affidavits for search warrants, expense vouchers, enforcement statistics,
court transcripts, official memoranda and Bureau publications, enforcement law tests
and notes, and photographs of bootlegging equipment seized as evidence. Galloway's
personal papers include correspondence, insurance policies, correspondence course
material, World War I-era U. S. Army Engineer Training Manual, Soldier's French
Phrase Book, and a pocket map of Beaumont, Texas.
