			<p>Henry M. Field was a merchant and owner of the H. M. Field Commercial Company, a
				general supply store for the farmers and residents of Brownsville, Texas, as well as
				one of the early settlers of Brownsville.</p>

			<p>The Henry M. Field Papers, 1892-1916, document the H. M. Field Commercial Company,
				business affairs with army posts, family business problems, Mexican revolutionaries
				in Brownsville area, and railroad construction. This collection contains
				correspondence, letter presses, bills, broadsides, account books, auction cash-sales
				books, bone books, case books, day books, deed book, check stubs, club books,
				counter books, freight books, hide books, inventory books, invoice books, journal,
				leather inspection books, ledgers, merchandise books, order books, stock books, and
				other assorted materials.</p>
