genealogical information, and ephemera compose the Guthrie-Shofner family
papers. The papers document three generations of Guthries including Shadrach
and J.E. Guthrie’s pharmacy in Salado, as well as Robert Lee Guthrie’s
scholarly activities at Brown University and the University of Oxford. The
papers and photographs are associated mainly with the Robert Lee Guthrie
family, with some additional material relating to the Shofner family.
Furthermore, the collection contains two Freemason certificates: one for
Shadrach Guthrie in 1830 and the other for Robert Lee Guthrie in 1922.
