Wilmer W. MacElree, born in 1859, was a lawyer, district attorney, and historian in Chester County, Pennsylvania, practicing law until the age of 93. He wrote books concerning nature and the area around the Brandywine, such as “Down the Eastern and Up the Black Brandywine,” “Along the Western Brandywine,” and “Around the Boundaries of Chester County.” He died on January 16, 1960.
The collection consists of a bound volume of original, handwritten manuscripts and correspondence titled “Down the Eastern and Up the Black Brandywine,” by Wilmer W. MacElree, 1906. The manuscript was published in 1906.
