Biographical Note

Samuel Lomax Hassell was a Sergeant Major in the 4th Texas Infantry ca. 1915-1917.

Scope and Contents

The albums and a few loose photographs were taken or collected by Hassell. They portray U. S. Army camps at Marfa, Presidio and Leon Springs. Also included are troop activities at Columbus, New Mexico, Mexico, the Philippines and France. Hassell family members and friends are also portrayed. The albums also include clippings related to military matters and business cards.
