Norfleet Giddings Bone was an aviator and
World War II veteran. He was born on August 12, 1892, to Edward E. and Maggie
(Norfleet) Bone, and graduated from New Mexico A & M College (now New
Mexico State University) in 1915 with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. He
worked from the City of Douglas, Arizona, then as an pilot with the U. S. Army,
until he joined Texas A&M University. In 1923 Bone graduated with a B.S.
degree in Landscape Architecture. This was his profession as he worked in the
U. S. Air Force, the National Park Service, and U. S. Army.
Bone was a member of the American Legion and several Freemasonry
organizations. He married Ruby Lee Franklin on June 15, 1925, in Dallas, Texas,
and the couple had two children, William Norfleet and Bobbie Dawn.
