		<persname>Will Van Overbeek </persname>was born in 
		<geogname>California</geogname> in 1955. He graduated from the University
		of Texas in 1978, where he studied under photographer Garry Winogrand. His
		photography has been published in numerous magazines, including
		<emph render="italic">Texas Monthly, Time, Newsweek, Rolling Stone,
		Smithsonian</emph>, and <emph render="italic">American Way.</emph> </p>

	 <p>This collection consists of black and white prints of a majority of the
		images that appeared in Van Overbeek's book <emph render="italic">Aggies: Life
		in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&amp;M</emph> (Austin: Texas Monthly Press,
		1982), focusing on cadets in the corps from 1980 to 1982 and including dorm
		life, inspections and drills, dances, hazing, football games, the Aggie Band,
		final review, and graduation ceremonies. </p>
