		<head>Biographical Note</head><p>Etcher and watercolorist Elizabeth
		  Estella Keefer (1899-1989) married Mody C. Boatright in 1931. She was the first
		  white woman granted permission to sketch on reservations in northern New
		  Mexico, becoming known as the <emph render="doublequote">Etcher of
		  Indians</emph>. After moving to Austin in 1932, she continued to paint and
		  taught classes in town. After her husband's death, Elizabeth moved to Corpus
		  Christi, where she resided and painted until her death.</p>
