	 <head>Biographical Note</head><p>Fred Pool served as the Executive Vice
		President and General Manager of the East Texas Chamber of Commerce (ETCC) from
		1955 to 1970. During this time, he focused on developing trade relationships
		between Texas and Latin America, conducting numerous trade visits to Latin
		American countries with prominent Texas businessmen.</p>

	 <head>Scope and Contents</head><p>The Fred Pool Papers consist of
		photographs and news clippings. Photographs comprise the bulk of the
		collection, documenting Pool’s trade visits with the ETCC to Latin America in
		the 1950’s and 1960’s. The clippings pertain primarily to Pool’s retirement in
		1970 and to the honorary “Ambassador to the World” award he received from the
		Republic of El Salvador in 1978.</p>
