		The papers include an 1839 description of the city of Austin, discussions of
		politics during the Republic of Texas, accounts of Indian affairs and
		hostilities including the Plum Creek Fight, information concerning Ruthersville
		and Ruthersville College, as well as genealogy and legal records.</abstract>
