Christian Becker, an
immigrant from the Rhineland, established a cotton gin in the vicinity of
Holland Creek, Texas, founding the city of Becker around 1869 (Grimes County,
Texas). Records document banking, finances, agriculture, and cotton gin, along
with property deeds, ledgers and booklets,and other related material.
Biographical NoteChristian Becker, an immigrant from the
Rhineland, established a cotton gin in the vicinity of Holland Creek, Texas,
founding the city of Becker around 1869 (Grimes County, Texas). In the coming
decades more than twenty families of Germans moved to the area and Christian
