Biographical Note
Bean (1783?-1846) came to Texas with Philip Nolan’s expedition in 1800, fought with Jose Maria Morelos in Mexico against the Spanish royalists (1807-1815), and became Indian agent at Nacogdoches in 1825.
Scope and Contents
Photostats and typescripts of correspondence and legal documents, transcribed in part from the Saltillo Archives, concern the character, concurrent marriages, and estate of Bean.
