Biographical Note

Mary Ella Batts, the daughter of Judge Robert Lynn Batts and Harriet Fiquet Boak, earned a BA from The University of Texas at Austin in 1913. She went on to marry Sawnie Robertson Aldredge, attorney, judge, and mayor of Dallas, 1921 to 1923. She was an active pioneer civic worker and the recipient of the 40th Zonta I Club Service Award.
