Biographical NoteArnett, born in Alabama in 1823, moved many times in his early life and came to Texas in 1845. He became a Texas Ranger in 1847 and served in the Mexican War. From 1876 until his death in 1892 he was treasurer of Kinney County. Return to the Table of Contents Scope and ContentsPapers deal with personal news of the various branches of the Arnett family and contain detailed reminiscences and family history. Included also are clippings of articles written by W.W. Arnett for the Castroville Quill and the Uvalde Hesperion about local happenings in Brackett (later Brackettville), Texas, as well as pension certificates for service in the Mexican War and transcriptions from family Bibles and historical records.
