		<head>Scope and Contents</head><p>These Spanish colonial records document
		  government administration and concern relations between Spain and the United
		  States, Indian relations, the Louisiana-Texas border, slavery, military
		  affairs, and the Philip Nolan incident. Records are largely composed of
		  correspondence of the Marques de Casa Calvo, governor of Spanish Louisiana, and
		  also include affidavits, inventories, deeds, and a troop roster. Contents are
		  arranged by place of origin, then by correspondent.</p>
