Scope and Contents

Photostat copies of letters by Allen. The first,written to his family, is a lengthy account of Allen's journey from Texas to Kentucky in February 1842 via New Orleans and the Mississippi River. The second, to Rev. E.B. Wright, October 24, 1878, is a reminiscence of the establishment of Presbyterian churches in Texas.
