The photographs and documents in this
collection were owned by Brownwood, Texas, resident Melrose Alexander, who died
in 1994. They consist primarily of family photographs of the Alexander,
Anderson, and Griffin families and their friends; teachers and students at
Daniel Baker College in Brownwood; and dwellings, ranch life, and livestock in
Brownwood and Brown County, Texas. A significant portion of the photographs
portray Melrose Alexander’s son, Elman Anderson, who died in Word War II.
