Biographical Note

Frederick J. Adams was a professor and administrator in the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin. A New Hampshire native, he recieved his BA, MA and PhD in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. He first came to the University of Texas in 1922 as an instructor in educational psychology, a field he taught in until his retirement in 1966. Adams also served the College of Education as an Assistant Dean and as Assistant to the Dean from 1951-1966. Dr. Adams did not publish widely, instead choosing to focus on the education of graduate students, and, later in his career, administration. He was a veteran of both World Wars; his serivce in World War II was as a coordination supervisor of psychological testing in the Army. Adams died in 1968 in Austin, Texas.
