		<p>Memoranda and correspondence, travel documents, itineraries, news
		  clippings and ephemera 1963-1995, document the life, work and interests of
		  Ruthe Winegarten’s aunt, Doris Cohen, who was born in 1907, worked for the
		  Thomas Cook travel agency for many years and traveled widely. </p>

	 <bioghist> 
		<head>Biographical Note</head><p>Historian, educator and lecturer Ruthe
		  Winegarten was born and raised in Texas. She received a Masters of Science in
		  Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington in 1970. She served as a
		  visiting instructor at The University of Texas at Dallas, worked on the Texas
		  Women’s History Project, wrote and co-wrote 18 books on the history of women,
		  African-Americans, Latin-Americans, and Jews in Texas. </p> 
		<p>Drafts, research files, correspondence, and digital files related to
		  the writing projects of Debra Winegarten, daughter of Ruthe Winegarten. The
		  bulk of the material pertains to an unpublished book about Michael Eakin,
		  former editor of the University of Texas’ 
		<title><emph render="italic">Daily Texan</emph></title>, whose murder
		remains unsolved and includes books and documents owned by Eakin, as well as
		Winegarten’s research notes. </p>
