Nona Blanchard, a native of West Texas, now lives in Austin, Texas, and writes
poetry, prose, music and lyrics. Additionally, she has served as a president of the
Austin Poetry Society. She formerly worked for the University of Texas Foreign
Language Education Center.

Poetry, bound volumes, lyrics, sheet music, CD’s, and calendars comprise the Nona
Blanchard Papers, 1964-2012, and document Blanchard’s activities as a poet and
lyricist in Austin, Texas. The collection relates to Blanchard’s work with artist
Greenfield Bowie, including lyrics; sheet music; CD’s, the cover artwork by
Blanchard; and her lyric work files, comprised of annotated drafts and notes.
Additionally, the papers document much of her literary career and contain a copy of
the Texas Observer, in which a copy of her poem
"Abbreviated Epitaph" was published in 2007.
