Biographical NoteHerman Yerger, an Austin magician and druggist, founded the Texas Association of Magicians. The Association grew out of an annual picnic held by Yerger, on Labor Day weekend, starting in 19464. Formalized in 1946, the Texas Association of Magicians continues to operate, holding an annual convention and collecting information about magic and magicians in Texas.
