Biographical Note

Robert Alton Gammage, born 1938 in Houston, served Texans in five elective offices: Texas State Representative, Texas Senator, U.S. Representative, Texas Court of Appeals Judge (Austin), and Texas Supreme Court Justice. A Democrat, he was associated with environmental, health care, and election reform issues. In the House, he was concerned with energy issues, and later worked as a special consultant for the United States Department of Energy.
