The Texas Music Collection, 1971-1995, contains photographs and
negatives, posters, and publicity materials of musicians from Texas as well as
Texas music festivals and locations. The musicians represent a wide-range of
musical styles: Tejano and Chicano artists, German and polka bands, country and
western music, psychedelic rock, and more. The photographs and posters depict
numerous musicians and bands, including Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Johnny Copeland,
Mance Lipscomb, Lisa Lopez, Asleep at the Wheel, Joe Ely, Alejandro Escovedo, a
German band in Fredericksburg, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Huey Meaux,
Willie Nelson, Roky Erickson, and Sherman Robertson, among others.
Additionally, the photographs portray festivals and music clubs, such as the
Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, the Ballet Folklórico Festival in San
Antonio, and the 12th Annual Texas Heritage Music Festival in Kerrville.
