A Guide to the Charles Morrey Bradfield Papers, 1933-1978

Descriptive Summary

Creator:Morrey, Charles Bradfield, 1907-
Title:Charles Bradfield Morrey Papers,
Dates:1933-1978
Abstract:Morrey's research included work in area of surfaces, calculus of variations, and elliptic partial differential equations. His work led to the solutions of the 19th and 20th problems of Hilbert. Morrey's published work is represented by drafts and other material (18 in.) from several of his books. There are research notes and drafts (15 in.) some of which relate to his later work on elliptic equations. Records of Morrey's work with the AMS-MAA Joint Committee on Women in Mathematics (1972-1976; 3 in.) are also present.
