A Guide to the Delmer Rogers Collection,
1987-1994
Musical scholar and Texas music expert
Dr. Delmer Rogers earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of
Southern California in1952, followed by his master's (1953) and doctorate
(1967) from the University of Michigan.
Collection consists of music-related materials, including student
papers from Rogers' courses in the University of Texas College of Fine Arts,
Roger's collection of sheet music, and music research papers.
Rogers' research and writing courses ("Music in Texas" or "Music in
North American Life") focused on music topics, and some of the papers include
photos and audio/video recordings. Inclusion in this archival collection was
optional for each student and was not a course requirement.
|
|
|
Arrangement |
|
The Delmer Rogers Collection is organized into
three series: I. Student papers; II. Sheet music; III. Research material. |
|
Student papers are arranged by the semester and year of the class, and
then alphabetically by the student’s surname. Sheet music is arranged
alphabetically by the composer’s surname. |
