Papers concern the career of Rice (1887-197?), Rockport businessman and civic leader, and his activities as owner of a shrimp cannery, manufacturer of boats for the U. S. Navy during World War II, operator of a marina and marine repairs shop, distributor of pleasure boats, and investor in oil leases and farm land.
