Blackburn Papers, the collection pertains to the extended Blackburn-Townsend families, family affairs, the business of several successive family law firms in Austin, land transactions, a furniture enterprise in Taylor, mining in California and Mexico, and political activities in which various members of the families participated. Townsend documentation is primarily in the period 1821-1909; Blackburn documentation is primarily in the period 1830-1918. Includes correspondence, diary, account books, minute books, legal papers, docket books, literary productions, and newspaper clippings.</p>
