Biographical Note

Joe B. Cannon was born in Limestone County in 1935. A practicing attorney for more than 50 years, he served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives representing the 55th District (Falls and Limestone Counties) from 1959 through 1964. He was defeated in the Fall of 1964 in his effort to gain a seat in the Texas Senate.


Scope and Contents

Papers consist of two scrapbooks containing letters, photographs, campaign material, memorabilia, and printed material. Contents of the scrapbooks document Cannon's elections and significant events in his career.
