Historical Note

The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1920 was a labor union located in Mineral Wells, Texas. It merged with Local 1822 of Fort Worth, Texas on February 10, 1969.


Scope and Contents

Records consist of correspondence (1965-1969), minutes (1958-1968), financial documents (1953, 1960-1966), roll call records (1956-1968), membership applications (1953-1968), constitution and by-laws (1953, 1961), and printed material (1952-1969). Correspondence is from general president, M.A. Hutcheson, of the national headquarters and with various Texas carpenter locals. A bound volume of minutes record and describe the proceedings of meetings held by Local 1920. The membership applications include names, addresses, places of employments, previous union affiliations, and other information. Printed materials include instructions for filling out forms; an interviewer's handbook, price list, and labor management disclosure act.
