Historical Note

The Houston Area Industrial Union Council was made up of representatives of local CIO unions in the Houston, Texas area. In 1959, it merged with the Houston Labor and Trades Council of the AFL to form the Harris County AFL-CIO Council. The Labor Council in Houston was first chartered by the American Federation of Labor on March 11, 1910.

This collection contains minutes of the Houston Area Industrial Union Council, the executive board, and the Political Action Committee.
