The National Youth Administration was established in 1935 under the Works Project Administration (WPA) to provide employment, job training and placement, and educational financial assistance to young people age 16 to 25. Under the Reorganization Act of 1939, the National Youth Administration came under the authority of the War Manpower Commission (WMC). The program was officially ended on December 31, 1943.
