Historical NoteThe School of Social Work was founded in 1967 at UT Arlington with the establishment of the masters of Science in Social Work program. In September 1991 the BSW and MSSW programs were unified into one administrative and academic unit, the School of Social Work. Today the School of Social Work is home to three research and training sites: the Judith G. Birmingham Center for Child Welfare, the Community Services Center, and New Connections Programs. The School also sponsors a Professional Development Program and a Legislative Internship Program.
