University of Texas at Arlington Centennial Celebration Collection:A Guide
Historical NoteThe University of Texas at Arlington traces its beginnings back to a private school, Arlington College, at the site in 1895. The school went through various ownerships and name changes before becoming part of The University of Texas system in 1967. UTA's centennial celebration began in August 1995 and ended in May 1996. The centennial celebrated the many changes the school has undergone in its evolution from a private elementary, intermediate, and high school to the graduate level university of today.
