Historical NoteThe University of Texas at Arlington, Office of Public Affairs, formerly was the Public Information Office and later the Office of Public Information prior to 1967. When Arlington State College became the University of Texas at Arlington, the name was changed to News & Information Service. Early in 1976, the name was changed again to News Service. Ken Whitt was head of the office for much of this period. The name changed to Public Affairs Office in 1995. Each weekday the Office of Public Affairs electronically distributes UTA Today highlights. UTA Today is a cable television station that delivers daily communication of important information about the University community. .
