Maclin Robertson, Jr., was a prominent Texas cattleman and grandson of Sterling C. Robertson, an early Texas empressario. Robertson also was a veteran of World War I and was associated with the West Production Company in Houston.
Correspondence, photographs, postcards, newspaper clippings, genealogical materials, histories of selected areas of East Texas, and artifacts. Genealogical materials describe the Robertson, Curlee, Enloe, and Goode families. Local histories describe Tyler County; the Tyler County Court House; Woodville and Doucette, Texas. Robertson's participation in World War I is reflected in artifacts and a graphic containing the roster of the Headquarters Company, 132nd F.A., 61st Brigade, 36th Division, formerly the First Texas Cavalry. |

Maclin Robertson, Jr., was born March 11, 1895, in Salado, Texas, and died October 18, 1953. His parents were Maclin Robertson, Sr., and Alice Josephine Woods. He married Nora Ann Enloe on February 5, 1944. He had three sisters and two brothers.
Maclin Robertson, Jr. was a great-grandson of Empresario Sterling Clack Robertson. The line of descent is through Empresario Sterling Clack Robertson, Elijah Sterling Clack Robertson, and Maclin Robertson, Sr.
Mr. Robertson served in WWI and is listed on the roster Headquarters Co., 132nd F. A. 61st Brigade, 36th Division, formerly the First Texas Cavalry, Captain Peter Schramm, Commanding Company, that shows Maclin Robertson, Jr. as a Corporal.
The Enloe family are descendants of a pioneer from Tyler County, Texas. Nora Ann Enloe had one brother, David Charles, and four sisters, Ruby Jordan, Beulah Johnson, Louise Hambridk and Lois Reardon. Nora Ann Enloe Robertson was a native of Woodville, Texas. The Holland and Crews families are both connected to the Enloe family by marriage.

The Robertson Papers are contained in one document box, one manuscript box, and space in GO34, totaling 0.7 linear feet. There are two series consisting of nine folders, four artifacts, and one roster.
Series I consists of clippings, correspondence, and photographs relating to the Robertson and Enloe families. This series also includes postcards and a roster relating to WWI. Newspaper clippings were photocopied onto acid-free paper and the original clippings were discarded.
The postcards include photograph type postcards. One is marked "Arrival 132nd F. A. Ft. Worth 4.7.19, and another is identified as "Military Police Co." with an arrow drawn to Maclin Robertson's horse and identifying Colonel Schramm at the head. The postcards are scenes of a parade in Fort Worth?, a ship, a waterfront, boxing match and parade. They are all of the Fort Worth WWI regiment. There are also postcards of Rennes, one of the "Allies Flags and Flowers," and one photograph postcard of J. L. Smith's Residence, Amarillo, Texas, May 6, 1917.
There is a small amount of information that relates to the Holland and Crews families, both of which are connected to the Enloe family by marriage. Included in the collection are obituaries for Mary Georgia Jordan, George Z. Lazenby, and Genevieve (Peck) Cruse, long time residents of Tyler County, Texas. Also included is a description of Mrs. D. Mann also a resident of Tyler County, Texas. There is also information on the Curlee family. (David Curlee Enloe).
Series II includes artifacts consisting of a pair of Maclin Robertson, Jr.'s baby shoes, two Dutch wooden shoes, a WWI combat helmet, and a handkerchief embroidered with "Souvenir de France."
One issue of the centennial edition, four sections, of the Temple Daily Telegram, April 7, 1936, is shelved with the newspaper collection. This small collection has importance for genealogists, WWI enthusiasts, and those interested in Fort Worth, Texas, history.
