Morton’s personal and office files during his service with the Office and Professional Employees International Union. Includes the organizing efforts at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Arlington, Texas.</p><p>The collection provides a good overview of the varied activities of the Office and Professional Employees International Union of which Frank Morton was Vice President and Regional Director. Here are found records of the day-to-day operation of a white-collar union (correspondence files) and chronicles of organizing campaigns at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (13-2), at West Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital in Louisiana (13-4) and other places. Here also are found accounts of the formation of a new local--No. 430 (9-8) and the suspension of an old local--No. 29 (11-7) and cooperative agreements between rival unions (2-4).</p><p>The collection also contains material concerning Mr. Morton's trip to Japan in 1964 under the auspices of the Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, his office diaries for 1971-1973 and 1975-1976, and union memorabilia.</p></scopecontent>
