Samuel A. Twedell Papers (1915-1963):
A Guide
Twedell was a union organizer, 1933-1948. In 1948, he was the first organizer elected as an International Vice-President of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America. Also in 1948, he assumed directorship of its District 5. Twedell retired in July, 1968.

Boxes 1-46 contain correspondence, handbills, organizational information and records of (primarily) District V of the AMC and BW of NA, of which Sam Twedell was the director. Box 47 contains photographs. Boxes 47-64 contain organizers' reports. Boxes 64-67 contain financial records of various local unions within District V. Box 68 contains photo reproductions of Mr. Twedell's personal scrapbook. |
