Margarette Leggitt Harden Mercer was a student at Texas Tecnological College and was a member
of Casa Linda, Tech's cooperative house for female students majoring in Home
Economics. She later became a professor in Food and Nutrition at Texas Tech University.
In addition, she toured China and assisted with nutrition programs there.
