Biographical Sketch

Texas Tech has offered music courses since 1925, but not until 1952 was a Bachelor of Music made a degree option. By the academic year 1954-1955, there were nine full-time staff members and three part-time. A music building was constructed in 1951.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of memorandums, committee minutes, band rosters, National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) reports, and programs and brochures. Also included are Texas Tech and non-Texas Tech videos, reels, cassettes, plaques, CDs, and LPs, as well as, Texas Tech memorabilia, photographs, and framed certificates.
