There is little biographical information on this collection other than it was
donated courtesy of T. Lindsay Baker. In one of the correspondence, W. S. Chennault
explains that he worked for Western Union from 1920-1962 and discusses the background
of the six telegraph lines from Sweetwater. The other correspondence, this time from
John A. Focht, suggests doing a survey of the Camp Verde area to collect biographies and
memoirs of the older engineers in the state.
The collection is made up of miscellaneous photographs, correspondence and a
felt covered scrapbook with the Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College logo on it.
The majority of the photographs deal with the cotton industry. The scrapbook consists of
images of the Blankenship family.
