Ned Underwood played basketball for the Snyder High School Tigers and was an all-district player. The promising player then joined the men's basketball team at Texas Technological College.

His 1955-1956 team included Bobby Wilson, Earl Redwine, Eugene Carpenter, Du-Wayne Blackshear, Logan Cummings, Sterling Gibson, Royce Elam, Harry Scaling, Jim Reed, Trainer Bo Midkiff, Coach Gene Gibson, Manager Dennis Calvert and Coach Polk Robinson. He served as captain of the Men's Basketball team for the 1956-1957 season.

Underwood and his teammates returned to Lubbock in 2004 to attend an event in honor of Coach Polk Robinson. Robinson's last year of coaching in 1961 was highlighted by his team's winning of the SWC title.

 Scope and Contents

The collection consists of scrapbook materials and photographs which were loaned for photocopying. The items have also been scanned onto CD-ROM.
