Biographical Sketch
The Sports Information Office traces its origins to the Sports News
Office in the early 1950s, and evolved to the present designation in the late
1960s. Sports Information serves in a public relations capacity as a liaison
between the media and the athletic department. The Office maintains media
records on all Tech athletes, as well as compiles and designs media guides and
game programs.
Scope and Contents
The collection includes various athletic posters, flyers and
memorabilia concerning various Texas Tech University sports. Many of the
posters donated were given by staff members.
